Russell Newquist was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia in 1978. In the summer of 1985, he moved with his family to Huntsville, Alabama, where he lived for the next 22 years. In May of 2007, he moved to Georgia with his soon-to-be bride Morgon so that she could attend the University of Georgia. They currently live in the town of Bethlehem with their two dogs, Mina and Summer. After Morgon finishes school, the couple hopes to move back to Huntsville to be closer to friends and family.
Despite his physical location in Georgia, Russell continues to work as a computer programmer for Applied Data Trends of Huntsville, where he has been employed since he graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a degree in Philosophy (yes, Philosophy) in May of 2000. Work continues in Georgia much as before, only now he sits in a spare bedroom instead of an office building on Wynn Drive.
Russell is an avid martial artist, having spent 12 years training and teaching at Spirit Made Steel Dojo in Madison, Alabama. He continues his training at the local YMCA where he teaches Shin Nagare Karate two nights a week. He is also guildmaster of the World of Warcraft guild Winter is Coming on the US Earthen Ring realm. Occasionally, he'll roll his 2002 WRX out to the autocross scene and prove that his car is vastly superior to its driver.
